External References & Supported Attachments

Supported References in CADian Classic:

PDF documents – as referenced sheets (e.g., plans, sketches, measurements)
DGN files – import or graphical linking of MicroStation data
DWF files – for quick visualization and reuse of compressed CAD data
Point clouds (*.pcg, *.rcp, *.rcs) – can be attached as references (viewing/orientation only, no 3D modeling tools)
Images (JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF) – for scanned plans, sketches, or photos

These references are not embedded in the DWG file but remain externally linked, keeping file sizes small and ensuring that updates to the original files are automatically reflected.
